Justin Tobin - Founder & President

Justin Tobin

Justin Tobin has over ten years Digital Innovation and Marketing experience in the Financial Services and Consumer Product industries.

As Principal at The Discover Digital Group, Justin works with medium to large corporations, both on the Agency and Client side, helping them navigate the rapidly evolving digital space including Social Media, new e-Revenue Business opportunities, Mobile, and Digital Acquisition & Loyalty optimization.

Previously, Justin was Vice President of Interactive Strategy and Transformation at American Express where he was responsible for the development and management of American Express’ Interactive Strategy, Customer & Competitive Intelligence, American Express Mobile, Amex’s Digital Innovations platform, and eChannel Optimization activities at a global level. Justin developed Amex’s first Social Media Strategy in the United States. He also managed multiple Credit Card P&Ls including the International Premium Product portfolio at Amex where he was responsible for global product development activities and portfolio management for the Platinum and Centurion (Black) Cards in 21 markets outside the US.

Prior to Amex, Justin held numerous New Product Development roles in both the Consumer Products and Retail Industries. He is well known in the Digital Community for his strategic thought leadership, discovery of innovative opportunities and solutions, as well as web and mobile program development. He frequently guest lectures on the above topics in both public and corporate forums.

David Gaspar - Managing Director

David Gaspar

David Gaspar is a Managing Director at DDG, an advisory firm that drives client revenue growth through digital transformation. He advises clients on digital monetization strategies across a broad range of industry verticals including publishing, new media and financial services.

David developed DDG’s proprietary REV-ID process, which identifies and enables the business transformation concepts that drive digital revenue growth. Through REV-ID, David has generated trend insights, identified future market opportunities and led the implementation of digital transformation initiatives for many clients including Citibank, DailyCandy & The Economist.

Bringing his unique skills and perspective to The Economist’s first major brand extension in a quarter century, he took a lead role in identifying and implementing Economist Education, a new business that puts The Economist brand squarely into the rapidly growing e-learning marketplace for international business executives.

David is a business visionary who developed his keen business and financial competencies advising clients on a range of financial transactions in the investment banking division of Jefferies & Company, and then as an M&A and business strategy specialist at GE Capital. Prior to joining DDG he was the COO and CFO for Hitviews.com, where he developed a deep understanding of digital monetization strategies and the business side of social media, in addition to running all financial, legal and operational aspects of the business.

Valia Glytsis - Project Consultant

Valia Glytsis

Valia joins Discover Digital Group with over seven years of strategy and marketing development experience, primarily in the Consumer Products Industry. Her expertise is traditional and digital marketing, brand analysis and development, and interdisciplinary departmental management. Most recently, Valia is founder and Executive Director of Methodemporia, a boutique management consulting firm focused on building creative solutions for the strategy, marketing, and technology needs of emerging and small companies. Previously, she was the Vice President of Sales & Marketing at High IntenCity, a high-end, teen jewelry manufacturer. In that role, she developed extensive experience with small business strategy growth and development and the licensing of consumer goods and services. Valia holds a BA from Georgetown University and an MBA in Marketing and Management from Columbia University.

Christophe Jammet - Director, Social Media & Mobile

Christophe Jammet

As our resident social media strategist, Christophe’s passion lies in successfully engaging clients across a host of digital platforms.  He has extensive experience with small business social media strategy and digital brand development and is an avid believer in the importance of integrating companies and brands with effective social media outlets and strategies. Christophe has worked closely with numerous brand campaigns, companies, and events, such as partnering with Rockstar games to promote major cycling events in New York City that garnered extensive local and national media coverage. He joins DDG from several years in the financial services industry, where he supported traders at a large NY-based hedge fund.  Christophe graduated with a BSM in Finance from Tulane University.

Peggy Segal - Managing Director

Peggy Segal

Peggy Segal is a consultant with experience working with companies and non-profits that are initiating or undergoing change in the fields of health, wellness and education. She has expertise offering insight about growth, innovation, and strategy. As a Managing Director at DDG, Peggy advises clients on how to integrate the value of digital assets into their particular field of expertise.

Previously Peggy worked as a Managing Director in venture capital at Invesco Private Capital, a group involved in both direct venture investing and fund of funds investing. On the equity side, she focused on early stage healthcare and medical device companies.  She also analyzed partnership portfolios and assessed the credibility of proposed investment strategies helping select emerging managers. Prior to Invesco, Peggy was a Principal at Chemical Venture Partners, the predecessor to JPMorgan Partners. There she led investments in a variety of companies in the health device and drug distribution areas, as well as biotechnology. Prior to that, Peggy worked at Vista Ventures, also focused on early stage healthcare, medical device, and biotechnology companies. A few of the companies Peggy worked with include Gilead, Cyberonics, and Cardinal Health. Prior to that, Peggy worked at Morgan Stanley in investment banking, working with healthcare clients.

Peggy organized and serves as co-chair for Harvard’s Alumni Career Taskforce for Students and is an advisor to Yale’s Center for Environmental Law and Policy. Peggy also previously ran a program at Baruch College called Opting Back In for mid-career professional women.

Peggy received her BA from Harvard University and her MBA from Columbia Business School.

Scott R. Singer - Managing Director

Scott R. Singer

Scott Singer is a business development, sales, and innovation specialist focused on identifying and implementing new revenue streams in digital media and mobile communications. He is a trusted advisor to c-suite executives and boards of directors having executed over $110 billion of strategic and financial advisory engagements for such clients as Cablevision Systems, CBS, Charter, Comcast, Discovery Communications, Liberty Media, NBC Universal, News Corp., Publicis Modem, Time Warner, Viacom, and Y&R as well as many private equity and venture capital firms.

Most recently, Scott was Vice President of Business Innovation for USA TODAY where he was a senior member of the team leading the newspaper’s transformation from print to digital. Previously, Scott was a Partner and a Leader of Deloitte’s U.S. Media & Entertainment Practice. He has also been a senior investment banker holding various Managing Director leadership positions at Bank Street Group, BMO Capital Markets, Bear Stearns, and Merrill Lynch.

Scott’s book, How To Hit A Curveball: Confront and Overcome the Unexpected in Business (Penguin Group 2010), provides guidance on how to successfully manage change. He is currently writing his second book, What Would You Do If You Weren’t Afraid?

Scott is regularly called on by CNBC, FOX Business, Reuters, and numerous publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, CNNMoney.com, Crain’s New York and Chicago Business, and Forbes.com in addition to many other industry publications, including Adweek, Broadcasting & Cable, IAB, Inside Radio, Mediaweek, MultichannelNews, and Variety.

He earned his B.S.B.A. from Bucknell University and his M.B.A. from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Scott has served on numerous industry panels and guest lectured at both Columbia’s and NYU’s business schools. He is currently on the Advisory Board of the Advanced Management Program in Media & Entertainment co-led by IESE Business School and The Paley Center for Media. Scott was formerly a Vice Chairman of Bucknell’s $400 million capital campaign, a member of The Paley Center’s Board of Governors in LA, and Chairman of the Annual Fund at The Dalton School in NYC.

Daniel Weise - Director, Design

Daniel Weise

Daniel Weise is Discover Digital Group's Director of Design. With over 15 years of graphic design and web design experience, Dan is a hands-on leader who is involved in every aspect of the design and development process. He works with clients on crafting initial design concepts and assisting with planning site content and follows through with wireframes, site design, and site development coordination.

Dan has worked with such diverse clients as Nike, MTV, Foot Locker, Westin Hotels, Levis, The Economist, Marla Cielo, and Dime Publishing.
